🇮🇸 Kleina for a Cause!
Celebrate Icelandic Independence Day with a Taste of Iceland
There's nothing quite like the warm, golden, twisted perfection of a Kleina — Iceland's beloved fried pastry that has been bringing smiles to Icelandic families for generations. And this year, you can enjoy them right here in Colorado!
🎉 Kleina at Our Independence Day Celebration.
We're baking (well, frying!) up a batch of fresh, homemade Kleinar to sell at our Icelandic Independence Day celebration, and every bag you buy helps support the Icelandic Association of Colorado and everything we do to keep our culture alive and thriving here in the Rockies. 8 Kleinar per bag — just $10.
👩🍳 Want to Learn How to Make Them? Come to Hjördís's Kitchen!
The weekend before the celebration, we're inviting the whole community — especially the little ones — to come learn the art of Kleina-making the traditional way! Join us at Hjördís's house for a hands-on baking session that's fun for all ages. Kids love twisting the dough, and everyone loves the smell of Kleinar fresh out of the pot.
It's the perfect way to connect, learn, and carry on a delicious Icelandic tradition. 🤍❤️

*Donations
Please consider donating to the association. All funds will go towards events. To donate, scan the QR code, or search in your Venmo app for @vala-vincent - phone number ending 6257 with the message of Iceland in one form or another (get creative)

To use the QR code, open up your camera, and point the camera at the code. A little link will pop up on your screen, click it and it will go to your venmo app. If you don't have Venmo, you can download it in your app store.
We ask for donations to cover the cost of the events. Any money left over will be put into the next event, ending with our grand slam of the year, Littlu Jólin. If you are unable to donate, please still join us, participation is not dependent on if you are able to donate or not. We ask that you donate whatever amount you are able to whether it is $5 or $50. The board members of the association donate their time and resources and will never accept any compensation for this role. We are all in an agreement that it takes a village to keep up the Icelandic community here in Colorado.
